Raising Gabdho Foundation is a social enterprise which aims to accelerate clean, accessible and sustainable energy for vulnerable communities through innovations for products, approaches to behavioral change and benchmarking good practices. We believe that a mixed solution can accelerate clean energy uptake to reduce the effects of energy poverty and bridge the gap of energy aid poverty as well.

Retail Sales executive (Kampala 1 position) 

Job Summary: The incumbent will maximise business value from sale of clean energy products in all B2Cchannels through the effective implementation and delivery of specific CustomerValue Propositions. She/he will oversee and develop the clean energy products Retail Sales Force to achieve approved target, ensure appropriate market coverage and coordinate all clean energy sales activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Achieving the sales targets on volume and margin through the management and the development of an effective retail sales force.
  2. Developing and driving implementation of operational plans
  3. Detecting and consolidating reports of market trends and opportunities in the country
  4. Coordinating clean energy products related activities with Supply Chain and Marketing to maximise business opportunities across all Indirect channels.
  5. Steering, developing, managing and motivating staff and ensure that the required competencies are in place to meet current and future business needs.
  6. Ensuring that HSSE practices are recommended to customers as part of the CVP implementation activities.
  7. Overseeing Segment credit, rebates and pricing.
  8. Implementing sales development and promotion, marketing and technical key initiatives and programs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The applicant should hold a good Bachelor’s degree. Professional Qualification in Marketing or a Business related qualification will be an added advantage.Excellent track record of success in Indirect Channel management activities with between 1 and 2 years’ experience in Marketing and Sales in B2C environment.

Ideally successful experience as B2C Sales Manager in FMCG sector

Successful in developing and leading teams & Strong interface management skills.

English required, local languages would be an advantage.Skills in Selling & Negotiation.Customer Relationship Management skills Good market awareness.

Skills in distributor Management, delivering results and pricing.

Commercial Sales executive (Kampala 1 position)

2. Clean energy Promoters (9 based in Kampala)

We are looking for dedicated clean energy promoters to join our clean energy marketing team. The promoter’s responsibilities include attracting new users and improving usage/traffic for community distributors to support community clean energy distributors attain sustainability, by assisting with product launches and events, improving knowledge of the product range, answering questions, and addressing customer concerns. They should be able to multitask and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful, one should be passionate about the clean energy products and community work, have the ability to inspire others, make genuine connections with customers and tailor their presentations to different audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting business growth for the green shops selling clean energy products
  • Delivering presentations and demonstrations to consumers
  • Engaging in meaningful interactions and building good relationships with consumers.
  • Following up with customers and providing guidance on product selection.
  • Meeting daily targets and submitting sales reports.
  • Searching for new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • High school certificate, diploma or similar.
  • Degree in Marketing preferable.
  • Experience in retail recommended.
  • Sharp customer service skills.
  • Eloquent and comfortable when delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent observation skills.

4. Community mobilier/Clean energy focal person
Support the planning, monitoring and timely delivery of expected outputs, by liaising with project team.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Support the planning and monitoring of project activities.
• Support selection of participants
• Support the Project team to ensure the timely delivery of expected outputs
•Collect data (and supplementary data where necessary) on organic quantity and composition of waste streams in preparation for updating Integrated Waste Management Plans.
• Collect data and prepare field reports needed for the documentation of lessons learnt from project implementation and recommendations to the Project Management Unit for more effective implementation and coordination of project activities.
• Support the Project Management team to collect data needed for Environment and Social Impact Assessments, developing environmental project briefs and conducting scoping activities therein.
• Provide assistance in implementation of the Project’s M&E framework with a review on retrieving verified information on project results and impacts.

Person specifications: Academic qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry (Forestry or Conservation Forestry and Products Technology or Wood Science and Technology)

Training in waste management and community engagement is added advantage


Working experience:
• At least one year of progressively responsible experience in waste management and clean energy promotion


Competences:
Strong analytical, report writing and communication skills; good communication skills, both oral and written and good interpersonal skills and team player, results based management and results oriented approach to project implementation, ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines, Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working integrated waste management climate change and renewable energy aspects
