Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets.
  • Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions.
  • Ensure financial records are kept up-to-date with the latest transactions and changes.
  • Contribute to financial audits.
  • Monitor all bank deposits and payments.

Procurement officer

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.

Responsibilities:

Communication officer

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization’s activities, products and/or services.
  • Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, and maintain a media database.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.

Community Mobiliser

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design and implementation of outreach activities to provide inputs to outreach community mobilizer;
  • Keep the community updated about the project;
  • Connect with and engage individuals and groups who approach societal problems in less conventional ways, in complement to or outside traditional civil society activities;
  • Connect the mapped initiatives and people with each other and coordinate for their mutual benefit e.g., when more than one group offer the same or complementary services;
  • Organise and participate in all project events (practical trainings on collaboration between the local government and communities, consultations with communities, mobilization of youth, community design workshops, idea generator camp and etc.);
  • Assist community initiatives with their online documentation (community proposals) jointly with outreach community mobilizer;
  • Respond and adjust to a flexible activity scheduling, logistical constraints related to public space management, or social dynamics involving the community and its expectations;
  • Make the space visible and supply understanding of community when demands come in.

Minimum qualification Requirements:

  • Proven ability to work flexibly and independently with limited supervision and deliver quality results against tight deadlines;
  • Have credibility within grassroots groups, is deemed as one of “our own”;
  • Have good communication skills to on board community members and coordinate with the international Future Makers team;
  • Be visible and be able to move easily across local and or international grassroots groups;
  • Be able to be plugged into one or more social/ techno change groups;
  • Have a proven track record in initiating action and taking a solution oriented approach to problems;
  • Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in Georgian and basic understanding of English;

Responsibilities:

Lead mini Grid mini grid project engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall technical and engineering leadership for the project, ensuring that all tasks are implemented effectively and that all deliverables are submitted on time, within budget, and in compliance with acceptable regulations and policies.
  • Support work planning and coordinate implementation of engineering tasks;
  • Submit all technical deliverables, all work plans, and progress reports to the Lead Engagement Coordinator. These documents may include weekly/monthly/quarterly progress reports, annual and final reports, annual work plans, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate, maintain regular communication, and develop positive and productive relationships with partners for the project, including local and national governments, agencies, partner organizations, donor project implementers and other donors.

Minimum qualification Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in engineering, energy, environmental studies, or other related field;
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience leading, designing, and/or implementing projects on mini-grid development, off-grid energy, and renewable energy technical feasibility studies;
  • Experience working in refugee settlements
  • Experience working with energy utilities, energy ministries, local governments, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders in Uganda.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Strong problem-solving skills; and
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Solar Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the job site, identify and resolve any potential hazards
  • Create or interpret the solar panel installation plans, mapping out the steps of the installation and where all of the components will be installed.
  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair solar panel systems, including the solar collectors, concentrators, batteries, pumps, fans, or support structure.
  • Do any and all electrical work needed to connect solar system to electric grid.  This includes proper grounding systems, controls and all testing necessary.
  • Weatherproof the solar installation in accordance with local safety regulations and the specifications of the manufacturer.

Minimum qualification Requirements:

  • Diploma or professional training in solar systems
  • 1 year of previous field construction experience preferred
  • Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed
  • PV design or PV Electrical experience is preferred
